For people who love tiny things
“What is it?” She asked, eyeing the 4 inch bowl on my desk.
“It’s a tiny desk garden.” I said, diligently entering her information into the computer.
I asked her about a correction on her account.
“Huh?” She said absently. She was still staring at the garden.
“Do you want to hold it?” I asked. She nodded.
As she picked up the garden I had made, she tilted and turned the bowl in her palms to glimpse the tiny details within. I realized this was a kindred spirit—someone who also finds wonder in the very small.
There is a quote from Iris Murdoch that goes: “One of the secrets to a happy life is continuous small treats.” While small treats can mean almost anything, I frequently apply it to miniatures and all the wonderfully tiny things in my life. It brings me great joy to make and discover tiny things and to share them.
In a time where experiences are so important to us all, miniatures provide tangible and lasting proof of an experience—one you can enjoy for many years. And all within the smallest footprint of space. :)
