Welcome to Earthface Pottery! I love making things, and I can't use them all, so I try to find good homes for them (and recoup some of my studio costs in the process.) I have a theater background (I also work as a play director in Chicago) and I have always been fascinated with faces. A few years ago, I started making them out of clay. I started with masks, then in 2010 I began experimenting with altering thrown bowls into faces to make me facepots. I also have a few non-face vessels. As I continue to grow and change as an artist, my pieces will change as well, so keep coming back! You never know what you might find.

I work out of Chicago's lovely Lincoln Square Pottery Studio. All my electric fired pieces are food safe. Raku pieces are for decorative use only. My masks are designed to hang on the wall, but I guess you could eat off the non-raku ones if you really wanted to...

Shipping
Items will be shipped within 3 business days of receiving payment. Shipping takes about 5-7 business days.

Packages will be shipped via UPS, with Delivery Confirmation if requested for an extra charge of $4.25. At this time I do not ship outside the continental US. If this makes you really, really sad, convo me and we can talk about it.

If you would like a different shipping method, please ask. I will need your zip code to get a shipping price and will then send you an updated invoice.

If the buyer is in Chicago, a meet-up can be arranged to save packaging/shipping costs/carbon footprint. Please ask convo me and we can try to work something out. Note that I do not have a car, but am great with the CTA.
Refunds and Exchanges
I describe all my pieces as accurately and in as much detail as possible. I cannot prevent shipping and handling damage. I can only package items to the best of my ability to help have a safe shipment.

Therefore, no refunds and no exchanges.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am happy to consider custom orders and commissions. Since I am a young, growing artist, I may respectfully decline a commission if I judge it to be beyond my current skill level and the resources currently available to me.

All my pieces are either glazed with food-safe glaze and fired in an electric kiln, or glazed with raku glaze and raku fired. Raku is a process by which the piece is cooled in a smokey "reduction" environment, which creates a beautiful metallic or crackled surface but renders the piece unsafe for food. I will always indicate in a listing which process was used.

All masks have a ledge at the top to accommodate a nail for hanging on the wall.
