It's a gorgeous, layer-detailed cake topper. I noticed that when it arrived, it smelled of burnt wood, and Em explained that it was off-gassing from the laser cutting and paint, and that the odor would dissipate. She was right. I let it air out for a couple of weeks, and she also recommended wrapping the stem with plastic wrap before inserting it into the cake to make it food-safe.
