About Us
Hi! Thanks for taking an interest in our shop. We're a small, independent UK based business with a real passion for making beautiful things from wood.
The business started with two colleagues (Ross and Jean) who discovered a shared a love for woodworking while working together as autonomous systems engineers - hence the name! We've been working together to grow our small passion project ever since.
We make items in two main ways. Ross is a skilled and talented hand tool woodworker. His lathe is the heart of his home workshop which he uses to craft unique bowls, candle holders, ring stands and mallets. Each item has hours of dedicated time poured in to produce truly unique and beautiful pieces.
Jean works closely with his dad, John, to operate a large CNC machine. Jean designs the items while John runs the machine to bring the ideas to life. Items are usually passed to Jean every Monday when John comes to look after his grandchildren for the day. Jean then meticulously hand finishes each item and applies finishes to keep them looking great, before packing them for postage.
We're a unique friends and family business. We love working with wood to bring out the natural beauty and character to produce unique and beautiful items. We believe strongly in sustainability and do our best to work with salvaged and reclaimed wood wherever possible to give it a second chance.
