Announcement    The term "fado" is Gaelic for "in years past" or "what came before". If you happen to be a reader of old Irish fairy tales, you may have seen the word as it is used similar to our English "once upon a time". When I was looking for a name for this shop, I saw Fado and knew it was IT! Everything here has come before. Everything here is made from upcycled materials. It might be a piece of clothing or a vintage linen but I love using materials found at estate sales and thrift shops and giving those materials a new life.

This shop is actually an offshoot of my first shop which I opened on Etsy in 2014 called Yoga's My Bag. Check it out if you're looking for a one-of-a-kind yoga bag (yep, I’ve got upcycled bags) or to check my reviews: https://www.etsy.com/shop/YogasMyBag?ref=hdr_shop_menu.

I thank you for your time as you browse around Fadoware. I've loved being on Etsy but the best has been working with my customers. I love doing custom orders and would completely enjoy working on something unique just for you. Thank you Etsy for the friendships I've made here.

About Fadoware

Sales 314
On Etsy since 2016

Fado= Gaelic for “what came before"

Fadoware = Upcycled clothing from yesterday’s found treasure.
One of my passions (or very bad habit) is going to estate sales and thrift stores. I’m constantly intrigued at the bounty of fabrics, clothing, linens and trim which can easily be re-purposed into something uniquely glorious. I invite you to read the first of my story at my first shop, Yoga’s My Bag here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/YogasMyBag. There, you can read the reviews from the shop that I started back in 2014 to sell my one-of-a-kind, and frequently upcycled, yoga bags, several of which were featured in an issue of Altered Couture magazine.

Fast forward a few years and this girl has WAY too many fabrics and trims picked up while treasure hunting so I started making my upcycled, cover-yer-yoga-leggings-butt skirts out of tees and other knit clothing. My skirts really took off so I started dabblimg in other designs using previously loved materials. Fadoware was born.

I thank you for your time as you look around my shop. If you see something you like, I’ve love to get it to you. If you’re intrigued but don’t find your color or size, please contact me for a custom order. I LOVE working with people to develop just what they want and I’ve been blessed to gather some good friendships along the way.

Blessings to you,
Sandra
