Can custom orders be returned?

Because custom and personalized pieces are made specifically for each customer, we do NOT accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations on custom orders once production has begun.

Each handmade item is created to the specifications selected at the time of purchase, including custom sizing, stain colors, engraving, personalization, or other requested modifications. For this reason, custom pieces cannot be restocked or resold.

If your order arrives damaged or an error on our part causes an issue, please contact us within 3 days of delivery with photos so we can review the situation and work toward a reasonable solution.

Is every piece you make the same?

No — and that’s part of what makes handmade wood products unique and beautiful.

Each item we create is handcrafted from real wood, meaning natural variations in grain pattern, knots, texture, and stain absorption will occur from piece to piece. Even when using the same stain color, different wood lots may absorb stain differently, resulting in slight variations in tone and appearance.

Because of these natural characteristics, no two pieces will ever be perfectly identical or look exactly like mass-produced factory items.

Please also note that replacement or separately ordered pieces made at a later date may not be an exact color match to previous orders due to variations in wood batches and stain absorption.

I wanted my item to look just like an item in one of your pictures. Is that possible?

Not exactly. Every item we create is handcrafted from real wood, and no two pieces of wood are ever identical. Grain patterns, knots, texture, and stain absorption naturally vary from piece to piece, even when using the same stain color and design.

We do our best to make each item as consistent as possible and our photos are intended to represent the overall style, color, and craftsmanship of the product. However, your finished piece may have slight variations in tone, grain, and character that make it uniquely yours.

These natural differences are part of the beauty and authenticity of handmade woodworking.

If I purchase an item, and then try to fix it myself, can I still return it to you?

No. Once a product has been altered, modified, disassembled, refinished, repaired, or damaged after delivery, it is no longer eligible for return, refund, or exchange.

Examples of alterations include, but are not limited to:

Applying additional stain, paint, sealant, or other finishes
Sanding or refinishing the wood
Disassembling shelves or hardware
Attempting repairs or modifications
Damage caused during installation, handling, or alteration

Because our products are handmade from real wood, we strongly encourage customers to contact us first if they have any concerns before attempting to modify the item themselves. Once changes are made by the customer, we are unable to evaluate the product in its original condition or accept it back.

If I make an error in my order and don't realize it until I receive the item, will you pay for the return shipping?

Unfortunately, no. If an incorrect size, style, stain color, personalization detail, or other option is selected during checkout, the buyer is responsible for any return shipping and reshipping costs associated with fixes or exchanges.

However, if an error was made on our part, we will absolutely work with you to correct the issue. In those cases, we will cover the return shipping costs if needed.
