5 out of 5 starsBefore I get into how amazing this product is, I want to advise everyone to please fully read the item description because I mistakenly misread the estimate for how long my order would take, but that is on me and me alone. It took a while, but it was well worth it, and my order did arrives within the time span written in the description. They are beautiful! I got exactly what I wanted based off of the description I gave and the seller was incredibly communicative throughout the process. They fit comfortably and are so much fun to wear. I cannot wait to take these out to events, they're so striking and fun! I could not recommend Jayecreations highly enough!

-What are scalemail gauntlets/tails?
Our Gauntlets and Scale tails are for any kind of costume use! They are hand knit together. The gauntlets are easy to put on your arms; they just slide right on! When custom commissioned, we use the buyer’s measurements to make sure they fit just right!
Scales are knit right into every stitch as we go along, not added in later!
Although these are made with thick yarn and some strong metal, we do not condone any usage outside of costuming.
Isn't scalemail heavy?
We primarily use aluminum or plastic scales, which are very light weight! The largest tails we’ve made have yet to be more than 6 pounds. Our largest gauntlets tend to be around 2 pounds an arm, plus the larger ones come with elastic bands near the top and they take off most of the weight.
In addition to being light weight, the scale tails are also squishy and flexible!
Won’t these scales rip through the yarn and fall apart?
We have been making projects since December 2015 and so far, we have not had any reports of major damage to our products via the scales ripping through the yarn.
We have had 2-3 projects been reported of just one or two scales ripping through but the rest of the project stayed in tack as those buyers quickly sent their projects back to us immediately for free repairs. All of those projects were large-XL tails and were scales near the tail tip that were drug across rough surfaces.
We always recommend our projects are used for indoor costume use only. If you are going to walk/drag your tail across rough surfaces, we suggest wrapping a bandana around the tail tip!
Do you make the scales?
Nope! We outsource the individual scales from theringlord.com and highly recommend them.
After receiving the scales, we hand knit them into awonderful project!
I have big/small hands, will these gauntlets fit me?
We make all of our custom gauntlets to custom fit the buyer's provided measurement preference! We now have a general chart attached to custom gauntlet listings in the photograph section. If you have measurements that do not fit into one of the size categories, contact us for instructions for your exact measurements!
We create gauntlets for all body types; no discrimination!
Regarding premade projects, always check the description of those before purchase. We try our best with estimating what size hands/arms those premade projects will fit.

Can I paint on the scales?
You can do whatever you want to the scales once you receive your product. We are not responsible for damages to your product. If you’re looking to add your own designs to the scalemail, we recommend purchasing a tail with scales that are anodized aluminum. We do not have any recommendations for which kinds of paints to use.
Do you ship to [This Country]?
We ship everywhere! The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs but we will refund the difference if we overestimate the shipping costs.
Will you be at [This Convention]?

We currently have no convention plans until Dec 2023 (Midwest Furfest if we even get accepted). We are switching focus to restocking our Etsy here more often.
Do you make for children?
[In regards to gauntlets only]
We currently only make for adult sizing. Our projects are for mature costume usage only and not children's toys. Since we use actual metal for 95% of our projects, we are uncomfortable making something sharp and potentially dangerous for anyone under 6 years of age.
We have made a custom project for as young as 12 years old with provided measurements; a parental guardian is required to make for children. We cannot directly sell to minors.
If you are interested in something for someone 6-17 years old, please contact us before purchase! We would like to receive measurements of the minor before purchase to guarantee quality.
We DO NOT make clawed gauntlets for anyone under 18 years old.
