KOLORIZE - Laser Cut Signs

Sounds or writing that symbolize and communicate a meaning.

Song lyrics that take you back in time. Names that connect different generations. Love stories that warm your heart. These are all filled with words that are personal and meaningful.

The same should be said about your home. Homes should be a reflection of their owners and be filled with things that are personal and have meaning to the family. Your home should tell your story.

We were shopping for a unique piece of wall decor for our bedroom. It had to be large and make a statement, compliment other colors in the room, and represent our style. Part romantic & youthful, part nostalgic & playful. It had to work with colorful art prints, bold patterned textiles and wood & metal furniture. It had to be personal and have meaning to us.

You know what it was? A word.

And so the search began for the perfect SMOOCH sign. It had to be big. It had to be written in a simple font with all capital letters. It had to be bright red. It had to be well made. It had to be unique. After researching so many options we didn’t like, we decided to do the next best. Make our own sign.

SMOOCH, the word that started this all. Twice, actually. The first time was a little different.

On the 4th of July, under a sky full of fireworks, a single smooch jump started this union. We were two young kids, determined to create the life we always dreamed of. Family comes first. Stronger together than separate, hard work and sheer determination have made those dreams come to life.

What started as a solo business venture became a husband and wife affair in January 2016. The best part is, our business has become a family affair connecting three generations. Our combined experiences have led us to this path and we’re grateful for the opportunity to do what we love and share it with you.

Frequently asked questions
How do you paint your signs? Do they show brushmarks?

All painted signs are professionally sprayed with a minimum of 4 coats of quality primer and paint on both front and back. That means you get an high quality, even and smooth paint job that's free of brush strokes.

What's the best way to paint my unfinished sign?

All unpainted signs come lightly sanded on all edges and are ready to be primed and painted. The edges will be dark from the cutting process but are easy to paint with a little prep. We recommend starting with a quality primer to seal the piece. Once that's dry, choose your favorite color to make it pop! Any type of paint will work so choose your favorite. Chalk paint, craft paint and spray paint are all good options. For brushed on paints, small, detail brushes work best for the edges and foam rollers for the front and back faces.

I'm confused on your sign sizing. How big will my name sign be?

Our word signs are available in 3 standard widths (24", 36" or 48" wide) regardless of the amount of letters in the word.

The sign heights will vary depending on the font you choose and the number of letters in your word. A good rule of thumb is the fewer amount of letters in the word, the taller it will be in proportion to the width selected. Here are some height estimates based on past work:

24" wide signs will measure 6" - 17" tall. Average height is 8" tall
36" wide signs will measure 7" - 23" tall. Average height is 12" tall
48" wide signs will measure 15" - 26" tall. Average height is 20" tall

If needed, send us your word and font selection for a specific height measurement.

I don't know what font I want. Can you send me a sample before I purchase?

Absolutely! Let us know your word and which fonts are you favorite so we can send over those options for you to review. After you make your final font selection, we'll be happy to get specific height measurements for your choice.

How do I hang my sign?

-All 1/4" thick signs have no hanging hardware included. 3M double sided mounting tape is a good option for hanging. You can find it at most big box retailers.

-All 1/2" thick signs are ready to hang on keyholes cut in back.
