The Story of Laurel Studio
Hi! I’m Jane, the designer and owner behind Laurel Studio.
I started this shop while I was pregnant with my son and our daughter was just a toddler. Life felt really hectic at the time, and I knew I needed to take some time for myself and invest in my own creative outlet.
The name “Laurel Studio” actually came from this passion. Traditionally, laurel leaves were believed to inspire creativity, sometimes even placed under ones pillow at night to encourage inspiration through dreams. The acknowledgment that creativity is something to be valued and fostered really resonates with me in this hectic life stage.
As a mom to two little ones also working as a project manager “by day”, it can feel very challenging to fit even the basics into my life, much less pursuing something I feel passionate about. I’ve had to really develop my ability to prioritize and stay focused on what is most important in the present moment.
You will see this theme throughout my shop. Most of my planners and other resources are minimal, flexible and productivity-centric.
Originally, my shop started with printable templates and then quickly expanded to digital planning once I started learning about the potential digital templates had to really take my planning and organization to the next level. I studied design and have worked in technology and project management throughout my career, so digital planning has become the perfect intersection of all the things I have passion around!
I love connecting with all of you, so please stop by Instagram (@laurelstudio_) or jump into our Facebook community (facebook.com/groups/laurelstudio) and introduce yourself!
