About

Welcome to Ruby & Mathilda, a mother-daughter shop.

Hello!

My name is Ivy, I own Ruby & Mathilda with my mother.

Ruby & Mathilda are my great-grandmother and 2nd great-grandmother. Mathilda, the daughter of a farmer, was a young woman at the turn of the century, seeing the inventions of the telephone, electricity and radio. Ruby, her daughter, grew up as a young girl during the Great Depression and experienced the turmoil of WWII as a war wife. These women represent the women of their time; strong, hardworking and resilient.

My entire life I’ve been surrounded by vintage. In 2012, I started my blog, Evie’s Tea Room, where I talk about my love of vintage and share my vintage purchases with my readers. I love vintage because it tells a story; these items can speak in their own way, you just have to listen.

Now, I’m ready to open my shop with my mother, and pass along vintage items we’ve gathered to others. I hope you enjoy spending time at my shop and find something you love!

I don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations

Returns and exchange details
All items sold AS IS. When shopping vintage, keep in mind items may have minor imperfections and flaws. Due to the nature of items for sale, no returns or exchanges. l do my best to document any imperfections of the items for sale in their listing descriptions. Ask questions before purchasing if unsure. Please review and examine photos of items carefully.
Payment
Preferred payment includes Etsy gift cards, debit and credit cards. Payment is due at time of purchase. No refunds or cancellations please.
Shipping
Items are shipped via USPS with tracking. If an item weighs more than 13 oz., it becomes Priority Mail, which automatically comes with tracking and $50 insurance. All shipping costs are approximate. I try to make shipping as affordable as possible. You can be assured your item is packaged well and is sent promptly. I will contact you with your tracking number once I have dropped the order off at my post office.

*If you would like additional insurance, please contact me prior to purchase.
*Should any issues occur after the item is no longer in my possession, I am not responsible. If an item is lost or damaged, that is the responsibility of the carrier.
Additional policies and FAQs
RESERVATIONS: We can reserve an item for you at no charge for a duration of one week. If you do not purchase the item reserved within one week, it will be available once again to everyone. To reserve an item for longer than one week, I request a reservation fee. For more information on the reservation fee, please send me a message.
Privacy
I do not, and will not share your name, address or email to any other parties outside of the post office and its clerks or carriers.

The payment process is controlled by Etsy. Credit card information is not shared with me.

Do you ship internationally?

If you live outside of the US and there is an item you would like to purchase, please send us a message.
For an accurate estimate, please provide the country and city the item would be shipped to.

I want to buy several items, will you bundle?

Yes! If I can, I will combine shipping to lower the shipping price. Please send me a message PRIOR to purchase and be sure to specify which items you would like to buy.

Can I reserve an item?

Yes, but only if the item has been listed for more than two days (48 hours).
I will reserve a single item for a duration of one week. After one week, the item once again becomes available to everyone.
