Das John Lennon-Zitat fängt ein, wie ich Juwelier wurde. Ich interessierte mich schon immer für die Fischerei und alles Meeresleben (mein Held = Jacques Cousteau, 1970er Jahre), also machte ich mich daran, Meeresbiologe zu werden. Ich arbeitete mich mit einer Geschäftspartnerschaft durch das College, stellte einfachen Schmuck her und polierte Opale. Eines Tages wurde der Schmuck meines Partners gestohlen und ich verließ das College, um einen Job anzunehmen und ihn zurückzuzahlen. Damals war ich am Boden zerstört. Ich fühle jetzt, dass diese "Katastrophe" Gottes Weg wurde, mein Leben neu auszurichten.
Ich nahm eine Schmucklehre an. Ich hatte keine Ahnung, wie selten diese Positionen sind. Ich verliebte mich in den Prozess, Schmuck aus Metall zu entwerfen und dann zu formen. Damit begann meine 40-jährige Karriere als Gold- und Silberschmied.
Heute ist mein Interesse an der Natur und dem Leben im Meer so stark wie eh und je. Ich hoffe, dass mein Schmuck dazu dient, die Anmut und Schönheit der Natur zu schätzen.

The John Lennon quote captures how I became a jeweler. I was always interested in fishing and everything sea life (my hero= Jacques Cousteau, 1970's), so I set out to become a marine biologist. I worked my way through college with a business partnership, crafting simple jewelry and polishing opals. One day my partners jewelry was stolen and I left college to take a job and repay him. At the time I was devastated. I now feel that this "disaster" became God's way of redirecting my life.
I accepted a jewelry apprenticeship. I had no idea how rare these positions are. I fell in love with the process of designing and then forming jewelry in metals. This launched my 40 year career as a gold and silver smith.
Today, my interest in nature and sea life is as strong as ever. I hope that my jewelry will serve to inspire an appreciation of the grace and beauty of nature.
