Sono sempre stato affascinato dai diversi minerali, dalla loro formazione e dal gioco di colori nelle pietre preziose. Alcuni anni fa, ho deciso di provare a avvolgere con il filo metallico alcune gemme e di regalarle ai membri della famiglia.
La gente cominciò a notare questi pendenti avvolti in filo metallico e chiese dove potevano comprarli. Ciò ha dato il via alla creazione di Sentient Designs Co., con l'idea di realizzare gioielli fatti a mano e davvero speciali. Inizialmente, la mia attenzione era rivolta al wire wrap e, durante il blocco del 2020, ho realizzato numerosi pezzi che sono andati esauriti rapidamente sulla nostra pagina Instagram @sentientdesignsco e sul nostro negozio Etsy.
Nel 2021, gli anelli con intarsi in resina hanno attirato la mia attenzione. Ho passato molto tempo a fare ricerche e ad imparare come crearli. Da allora, ho aggiunto nuovi prodotti e collezioni a questo negozio per far divertire le persone.
Il mio obiettivo è continuare a proporre design freschi e innovativi, nonché esplorare altri stili di creazione di gioielli. Quello che era iniziato come un hobby si è trasformato in un viaggio emozionante.

Welcome! I'm Matt, the founder of Sentient Designs Co. If you're reading this, thank you for taking an interest in my work. Here’s a bit of background on how and why I started making jewellery.
I've always been fascinated by different minerals, their formation, and the play of color in gemstones. A few years ago, I decided to try my hand at wire wrapping some gems and gifted them to family members.
People began to notice these wire-wrapped pendants and asked where they could buy them. This sparked the creation of Sentient Designs Co., with the idea of making handmade, extra special jewellery. Initially, my focus was on wire wrapping, and during the lockdown of 2020, I made numerous pieces that sold out quickly on our Instagram page @sentientdesignsco and our Etsy shop.
In 2021, resin inlay rings caught my attention. I spent a considerable amount of time researching and learning how to create them. Since then, I've been adding new products and collections to this shop for people to enjoy.
My goal is to continue bringing fresh and innovative designs, as well as exploring other styles of jewellery making. What started as a hobby has turned into an exciting journey.
