Creating in the midst of chaos.
Silverice Studio was a small idea brewed over a long time to hit its full strength, where it eventually, yes smack in the midst of a pandemic, possible financial collapses, and not without the wonderful encouragement and help from twin sister and friends came to fruition. My twin has been a long time artist that I've admired and a great source of inspirations. At the stroke of midnight, my store opened this December 11th, 2020.
Silverice is the beloved name of my mom's mage from WoW (World of Warcraft mmo game). I played with her in mmo's and other games for over a decade together. Her mage and my druid would go everywhere! Farming, crafting, fishing, raiding, hanging out with friends. I have very fond memories of our time there. She was always someone who encouraged creativity. To think about stories, have an imagination, be ever curious and ask questions. I sadly lost my mom a few years back to uterine cancer, and her memory lives on through my art and creative adventures. I couldn't think of a better way to remember our time together than naming this place after her.
I am not a traditional artist by any mean. I struggled for years forcing myself to try to squeeze the drawings I wanted out of me, but couldn't seem to grasp it fully. I didn't find my happy spot despite doing my best. Fast forward some years when digital art started up. It was the first time I thought maybe I could really try to do this. I love art. I love seeing what everyone creates. I love all the details and variety and colours and styles of brush work. I adore having every single brush at the call of my fingertips. I respect greatly painters and traditional art and will continue to love, buy, and pat all the ones I collect over time. I even dabble again in it as my confidence grows again.
For me, digital was *it* and thus, here we are now. I've spent the last entire year heavily invested in Procreate on my iPad daily, and plucked up the courage to try to start this shop up. I have many many plans, many ideas, many pieces swirling in my head. I only need time, encouragement, and a dash of luck.
Thank you sincerely for stopping by, browsing, even buying anything here as it means a great deal to someone who didn't believe the best in herself or her abilities. I hope it brings you a little cheer in this dark year+ of the pandemic and wish you safety and peace.
