4 out of 5 starsThe honey-beige color in the photos is not the same as the actual stones, which are bright golden yellow in color, but they sparkle with a nice fire. I like them.

About SumireDesign
A quiet moment
As I write this column I am sitting by myself in my booth. It is sunny and warm but there is enough of a breeze for the tent to flap occasionally. My sister has gone for food and my potential customers have (only temporarily I hope!) vanished without a trace as though evaporating in the hot sun. My fellow vendors appear to be napping in the shadows of their booths. Or, they might be comatose in the warmth after lunches of their own…. So I sit, surrounded by colorful scarves, t-shirts, jewelry and other goods, reflecting on human creativity.
Obviously I have been alone too long….
Still, running any shop (online or craft fair) has moments like these: a lull where you can take stock, reflect and plan. Or, take a deep breath in a day that has been (like many craft shows are) complete havoc. So I mull what I want to list online tonight and what I will work on this coming week. And I walk around the shop again and straighten the piles of t-shirts, debate whether I want to rearrange the table runners, fluff the silk scarves and straighten the bracelets yet again.
And then, as a customer appears, I smile and say, “Hello!”

Shipping
You can pick up your purchases at any craft fair I am working, please bring your receipt for ease of identifying your purchase. Use coupon code "CRAFTFAIRPICKUP1" for free shipping. My craft fair schedule is included in the announcements section of this website.
If you would like to upgrade or add insurance to your purchase, please let me know at the time of purchase. There will be an additional charge. Package tracking is provided as part of the shipping fee in the United States. Package tracking for international orders is available but very expensive. Please let me know at time of purchase if you would like to purchase package tracking for international orders.
I try very hard to make sure that shipping is accurate and reflects the cost of actually getting an item safely to its destination. However, the postal service keeps changing their rates. If the shipping is more than 10% off of what it should be, I will ask if you would like to provide additional shipping or cancel the order.
Additional policies and FAQs
International orders:
Import and shipping regulations change drastically from country to country, please check with your customs regulators if you want to be absolutely sure you can import something. (ie. some have bans on seeds and beans that affect the shipment of my bean bags.)
Privacy Policy: Etsy tracks how many people visit my site and what listings are popular. There is nothing personally identifiable within that data and I do not share it with anyone. I do not share ANY data, and will not unless ordered to by Etsy or law enforcement. Please see the main pages of Etsy for information on their privacy policy.
General help:
Gemstone jewelry - Gemstones and their settings are delicate, they can be crushed or bent out of shape if abused. I inspect everything before I mail it, therefore receiving damaged goods is an uncommon problem. If a gemstone falls out of a setting don't panic, I can probably fix it if you have the setting (still in fairly unbent condition) and the stone (uncracked or crushed). Contact me and we can arrange details for it's repair. I can fix or match almost everything I have made, but you will be charged shipping and possibly the replacement cost for a broken setting or stone.
Beaded jewelry - If you have all the parts, I am happy to discuss the cost of having the jewelry restrung.
Haori - Haori are made from vintage silk. Please do NOT place them in your washing machine or hand wash! If you do this your haori will be ruined! If your haori is wrinkled, hang it up in a steamy room to steam the wrinkles out or use a steam iron (steam on and low heat setting). If your haori is dirty, use an apparel steamer and gently brush dirt away. Don’t get it wet! If your haori needs a lot of cleaning, the best bet is to take it to a dry cleaner that specializes in delicate silk and vintage apparel. Make sure they understand that your haori is vintage silk and not colorfast. I will not guarantee the results of any of these methods.
