Why Sweet Stitches CTX?
I started sewing as a coping mechanism after a loss. It helped me navigate the grieving process. Soon after, I got pregnant with my daughter, Amira. I was so excited, always thinking of all the dresses and cute outfits I was going to make her. Want me to be honest? My first makes were hideous ha-ha. They look like potato sacks, the seams where not pretty at all. But years went by, and I never quit. I kept going, kept trying and kept learning and all that got me to where I am today. Making beautiful garments for my SWEET child. Although, handmade items are, well, handmade and can have imperfections, I always try to make every STITCH with love and care. A few years ago, we left Puerto Rico and relocated to CTX (Central Texas) and made it our forever home. Let's face it, multiple times I've wanted to get handmade items, but they are out of my budget. And that's not the makers fault, their craft, materials and time are invaluable. That's why my main goal is to make handmade garments and accessories that are accessible for everyone, the economy hasn't been the greatest lately and everybody should be able to afford quality handmade items. If I got raw materials on sale, I use the sale price to calculate the pricing for that item. I want to pass every saving to my customers, which I consider are part of my family.
