She also creates custom shaving sets after a creative consultation where you can specify your wood and stone inlay or etched metal combinations. Items can be personalized with initials set in beautiful stones available in a variety of colors.
Christina also offers complete shaving sets that include the handcrafted razor and stand, as well as the option for a carved wooden box, all natural shaving soaps in a variety of scents, and a vintage shaving cup.
Christina Gurnham Alvarez is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Film and Photography. In her studies Christina (almost) minored in metalsmithing, a skill that later was integrated into her wood working.
After taking some wood working classes at her local community center, Christina became interested in wood working and pursued more study. After selling some shaving sets at her local crafts fair, she saw that there was something interesting about making a shaving set that integrated natural gemstones. Now she has integrated metal working Christina has been able to produce shaving sets that can not be made anywhere else.
Christina left her full time job in 2013 to pursue woodworking full time. Christina is enjoying her career as a woodworker and thanks etsy for her success.
