Welcome to Woododdities, a family run, father & son ,woodworking & millwork shop located in upstate N.Y., U.S.A.
We create & handcraft unique & functional items used in the home, as well as natural woodcrafted pieces for home & office decor. Custom tables, millwork items and woodworking accessories geared towards the crafter & artisan are also offered. We accept custom orders, and will gladly work with you & your own design.
Many unique hard & softwoods are used in our shop, most coming from the Adirondack Mts. of N.Y. state U.S.A. Premium, grain matched hardwoods, as well as burls, crotches & roots are harvested, seasoned and kiln dried for use as the raw material,always with an eye for the swirling grain, burly knots, and contrasting colors that bring out the woods natural characteristics. We incorporate sustainable timbering practices, including using naturally downed & reclaimed material. An on site solar kiln ,( of my own design), to properly season the woodstock, and a portable bandmill are part of our fully equipped woodshop. Nothing is wasted in this process, as there is an end use for every part of the tree, down to using the sawdust and wood chips to provide heat for the shop and kiln!
Everything we craft is signed, and in many cases, one of a kind. Our focus is to create pieces that first of all are functional, while retaining their individual and unique characteristics which make wood such a living and renewable resource.
