Animal Rescue and Foster
>^.^< The Cat/Kitten Story =^.^=
It all started when I lived in a neighborhood overrun with stray cats. They liked me because I feed them, they liked me so much they had their babies in my attic or garage. So I'd take them in and try to find new homes for the kittens as well as the mothers. I started selling on Etsy to create revenue to continue rescuing and re-homing these homeless animals.
2012 RECAP: Homes for over 30 kittens and six mothers spayed.
2013 RECAP: 43 kittens and 5 mothers rescued. 24 kittens adopted.
2014 RECAP: Only found 6 new kittens this year and found homes for 10. The focus this year is to get as many of the stray cats fixed, 6 females and 12 males. Without any new kittens, I missed the pitter-patter of little paws, so now I also foster for a local rescue group called Second Chance Pets.
2015 RECAP: Well I've had sixteen foster kittens this year, 10 of them have found their fur-ever homes and I now have six still waiting. I take them to adoption day every Saturday at the Petco on Bay Area @ Space Center.
2016 RECAP: This year I started with 6 foster kittens and Buddy, a cat I have been taking care of. I was able to foster 7 new foster babies and had 8 fosters adopted and Buddy making 9 by the end of the year. I bottle-fed 8 kittens, 6 that went to their own foster homes when they were eating on their own, and two I got to foster.
2017 RECAP: I started this year with six cats/kittens 2 of them belong to me and 4 are foster babies. I also have had 12 new cats/kittens foster, 10 adoptions and one sadly passed away. Personally, it's been a tough year especially with Hurricane Harvey and a few health issues, but I have a good feeling for 2018, So if you have room in your home and heart, please adopt a homeless animal from a shelter or rescue group.
01/01/2018 UPDATE: I still have my own two cats Gatsby and Annie and my current fosters are Possum, Mao, and Mr. Nosey, Mama-Mia, and Persia. Possum has been in the rescue program since 2015, Mao is still a big scarred cat,
01/01/2019 UPDATE: The 2018 final count, I fostered 24 cats and kittens this year, 4 kittens passed away due to a URI all in the same week, it was a very sad time for me. Which left me with 20, four of which were carried over from 2018, and Mao who is STILL too scared of everything to show on adoption day. So I start 2019 with four fosters Yen a beautiful calico cat, her son Chan a very soft solid black kitten, scaredy-cat Mao and Rudolph a feisty little tabby I got when he was only 5 days old. Of course, I still have my two cat's Gatsby and Annie (seven if you are counting).
2020 RECAP 2019: During 2019 I fostered 11 cats and kittens and two puppies, 8 of my fosters got their fur-ever homes and the puppies went back to the Dog World side of Second Chance Pets where they were adopted together! The mother cat of three of my kittens was TNR'ed and one of my fosters escaped and hasn't returned. So for 2020 I still have my two cats and Mao, whom I think will never get friendly enough to adopt, so I should start to count him as one of mine. I have Snuffy, Heartman, Clapton, Santana, and Bonnie, who are still my fosters and a stray I've been feeding and trying to catch to be fixed, I've been calling Tom-Tom.
2021 RECAP of 2020: With COVID-19 showing and adopting cats/kittens were impacted. I started 2020 with my two cats, Annie and Gatsby, 3 older fosters Moa, Snuffy, and Heartman, and three kittens Bonnie, Clapton, and Santana. I had a total of 14 fosters three of whom belonged to a local shelter that needed a bottle feeder, sadly one passed away. Four of my fosters were re-homed to two new foster homes that wanted kittens, those have been adopted.
I'm out of room here, and can not add new years. You can read my continuing story in my most recent listings, or send me a message and I'll be happy to send you what's gone on with my cats/kittens.
As of 2025, Over 250 fosters and counting
