me and glass
My glass enthusiasm comes from my family. My father was a glass industry engineer, later running his home business. I grew up with glass everywhere around the house. I played hide-and-seek around big sheets of glasses. Later on I studied and researched glass at the university where I mastered in Architecture.
After my kids were born I realized that architecture projects are way too big for me if I wanted to raise my kids myself. First, I started designing and making fused glass, modern jewelry, as a hobby. In a year it became a business. Some people say what a big change. I don’t think so! Designing and creating has always been part of my life. The only thing that changed is the scale.

bold●color●glass
These three words characterise the fused glass, modern jewellery best besides the personal dedication seen in almost every item. I love retro inspired simple modern shapes and bold colors.

My small and thriving business was established in 2007 under the name of panyizsuzsi in Hungary. Since panyizsuzsi – my name – is hard to spell for foreigners, I have chosen my slogan bold●color●glass to be my international brand name. My start-up capital was very little. The first years I was the coder, the marketing assistant and the jewelry designer at the same time. I worked hard in our spare room and reinvested all my income for 4 years before I paid myself for the first time.

In my business I aim to help other mothers by providing jobs for them. For this reason I have only women co-workers at bold●color●glass. I work full time, my assistant and glass technician part time while others like my marketing or pr consultants are based on projects. I am proud of having set up a great team in 5 years!

By 2011 the business grew out the spare room. For sustainibility reasons I decided to stay at home and build a bigger studio in our attic. This way the time and money I save on transportation can be spent with my family. I entered the Make Your Dreams Come True! competition, funded by Budapest Bank, a local commercial bank. As the winner of the business category and was awarded $5000 grant for the building costs. The studio was built in the summer of 2011. The new bold.color.glass studio perfectly fit my needs both functionally and aesthetically.
