Gift giving made easy!
There’s nothing like giving a gift that evokes some sort of emotion, and that is what we specialize in. Whether it’s one of those hilariously inappropriate things that people think but don’t say out loud, or a gentle reminder that you are enough, each of our blocks tells a story.
And it’s in those stories that we find connection.

Our free-standing mini wood signs are a great way to add a bit of fun to your home or office décor, and they’re made from salvaged wood, making them a great eco-friendly choice for gift giving.

The idea came to me in 2014 while building our house. We saw all of these off-cuts of framing lumber, and wondered what happens to them. Upon finding out that most of them end up in the landfill, I started experimenting with painting or staining them and then using an ink transfer technique to put words onto them.
And Daisy Thirteen was born.

Our mini wood block signs are made with a whole lotta heart and soul. Unlike the big box stores, each of our blocks is totally unique because they’re handmade from salvaged wood. Whether you give a block to that special someone to let them know how much you love them, order a personalized block to remind your loved one to take their meds, or gift a block to that friend who has always shared in your love of sarcasm… we are all connected. When customers share their stories with me, I laugh or cry with them, and I carry those stories with me every single day.

Choose from over 100 pre-designed free-standing blocks, and if you don’t find the perfect quote for that special someone… I’ll design one for you. Our custom order listing allows you to choose your size, colour, and font, and we always make a mock-up so that you can see how it will look!

Why the name Daisy Thirteen?
I’ve always loved daisies! From doodling them on my binders in middle school to getting a daisy tattoo for my 18th birthday, to planting them in my garden… there’s just something about their perfect imperfection and wonkiness that just tugs at my heart.
And the number 13 has just always been my lucky number. 

Custom and personalised orders

We love to work with you to create a customized item, just for you!
At this time, we are only accepting custom orders with text on them, no graphics. Sorry, but we can't put anything copyrighted onto a block, so no song lyrics or excerpts from a book.

The technique we use is an ink transfer, and at this time we only use black ink.
Colour options for our blocks are:
--Distressed Black (with the brown stain showing through the "hollow" letters. The amount of distressing varies.)
--Whitewash (with black letters).

Sizing details

We specialize in small! Mini, tiny, cute... whatever you want to call it, our blocks are small and free-standing (no hanging hardware included).
A "perspective photo" in included in each of our listings (in addition to actual measurements), so that you have an idea of the size of the blocks. The Small size is about the size of the palm of a woman's hand, so it's great for on a desk.

Gift wrapping and packaging

If your order is a gift, please just mark it as a gift, and we will 'pretty it up' a little. :)
If you would like to include a note enter that at checkout, and we will print it onto a notecard and send it along.

What's your return policy?

I accept returns, unless it's a custom order. Please contact me before returning an item.

Keep in mind that the shipping cost will not be refunded. The customer is also responsible for return shipping to Canada.

Why is shipping within Canada so dang expensive?!

Canada Post is just very expensive to ship with for a single item. BUT.... each additional item is only a bit more , so the more items you buy at once, the less it ends up costing per item.

I'm in Canada, what about tax?

Our pricing includes GST/HST (if applicable), and Etsy is responsible for collecting the PST (if applicable).

Tariffs

We are located in Canada, so we're keeping an eye on the the tariff situation. At this point the $800 de minimus exemption is still in effect, so any orders under $800 are not subject to tariffs. This can change at any time, even after shipping, so please understand that we have no control over it. Thank you!
