J’ai commencé hooks&mint comme un exutoire pour ma créativité. Armé d’un nouveau diplôme universitaire en cinéma et en arts médiatiques – mais travaillant dans l’industrie financière très à cerveau gauche – j’ai eu du mal à trouver cet équilibre créatif. Cela m’a rappelé les heures passées à me détendre sur le canapé du salon à crocheter avec ma mère et j’ai décidé de reprendre l’artisanat.
Peu de temps après, mon mari et moi avons déménagé à Portland, en Oregon. Être introverti dans une nouvelle ville était difficile, et me concentrer sur mon métier a rendu la transition beaucoup plus facile. Avec le désir de repousser mes limites de crochet, j’ai commencé à écrire mes propres motifs et à créer des designs frais et modernes. Ce qui était autrefois un passe-temps secondaire est devenu une passion motrice dans ma vie. J’aime partager mon travail et rencontrer d’autres artisans à travers le vaste monde du crochet.
I started hooks&mint as an outlet for my creativity. Armed with a fresh college degree in film and media arts — but working in the highly left-brained financial industry — I struggled to find that creative balance. I was reminded of the hours spent relaxing on the living room couch crocheting with my mom, and decided to pick up the craft again.
Shortly thereafter, my husband and I moved to Portland, Oregon. Being an introvert in a new city was difficult, and focusing on my craft made the transition much easier. With a desire to push my crocheting limits, I began writing my own patterns and creating fresh, modern designs. What once was a side hobby has become a driving passion in my life. I love sharing my work and meeting fellow crafters through the wide world of crochet.
