All my drawings are the reflection of my mental images. The characters are puppets that I move as I please on a world arising from my imagination.

I started these drawings as a way to let loose my emotions and thoughts, to empty my mind of all, to download all my images. Something like “the morning pages” of Julia Cameron’s book, “The artist’s way”. That’s why my drawings sometimes are heartbreaking, sometimes sad or cheerful, symbolic, surreal…; I talk about currents affairs, my fears, my dreams… depending on my feelings I’ve got in this moment.

I use white, black and red colors because I don’t need more colors to express myself (the darkness, the light and the blood/skin). With these two inks (black and red) and the color paper I create all the shades that I want, I generate ambiences. On the watercolor paper I draw with a pencil, many times without sketch. To keep the white pure I do a masking. Then I start with the brushes to do the different shades. To finish I work with fountain pens to give lift to the lines. And…It’s surprising how the images appear!
