I’m probably not going to need another coat but if I do, I will not go anywhere else to purchase. I imagine that once I am gone, my granddaughters will enjoy the warmth and joy of wearing my coat!! 4 out of 5 starsThe scarf is beautiful and soft. My only issue with it is that it loses ALOT of fur. I keep getting lose hairs in my mouth and it leaves alot of fur on my clothes so right now I feel like it's only wearable at home. I hope the fur sheds less later on so i can wear it outside.

Furs are high ticket items and you will want them to fit properly . Sizes run different from country to country and pattern to pattern. Q: What is the difference between full skin garments and sectional furs ?
A: Full skin garments are made of the dorsal area of the skin . They are consistent throughout and they cost much more . Sectional fur garments are made of the parts of the skin that remain after the dorsal area has been removed ( e.g heads , tails , legs , bellies) but always only from the very same skin part or if mixed they must have a geometrical pattern. Their quality , endurance and warmth is equal to full skin coats . Their price is significantly lower but they do not have the ultimate consistency and homogeneity of a full skin coat.
Everyday Care Tips
Your fur coat should always be hung on a broad, sturdy padded hanger to keep the shoulders from loosing their shape. The neck of the hanger should be long enough to keep the collar of the coat away from the hanging rod.
Do not hang your fur in a garment bag, especially a plastic bag that doesn't breathe. The fur needs air circulation to keep the hide from drying out and cracking.
How to Clean Fur coat
If you get caught in a light rain or snow, simply shake it out and remove as much water as possible. Hang it to dry in a well-ventilated room. Do not use a hair dryer, clothes dryer or any direct heat on the fur. After it is dry, shake again to fluff the fur - do not comb or brush - simply smooth the fur with your hand.
If your coat gets completely soaked with water, you should take it to a professional fur cleaner immediately.
Your coat should be cleaned every year by a professional fur cleaner - not a dry cleaner. Even if you don't wear it often, animal fur gathers dust, oils and odors. Professional cleaning will add luster and shine to the fur and keep it from becoming matted.
Professional Fur Cleaning Process
A fur professional will inspect your coat for stains, rips and tears. The linings are hand-cleaned with specific attention to spots and stains.
The fur is then placed in a large drum filled with sawdust and an environmentally safe cleaning solution. The coat is tumbled in this drum which draws the dirt and oils from the fur. The coat is then vacuumed to remove the sawdust and finally, hand steamed to remove any final residue.
The next process involves "electrifying" the coat. Using large rollers, electricity used to make each hair lift, separate and lie in the same direction. It is similar to static electricity that makes each of our hairs stand separately on our heads.
Off-season Storage of Fur
Fur hates heat. It is not the actual hair that is affected, it is the hide or leather that can dry out, become stiff and crack.
The optimum storage temperature is 45 degrees F. and 50 percent humidity. In fur storage vaults, the room is dark which prevents bleaching and fading of the color. Moths and other insects cannot survive at that temperature.
Furs that are properly stored during hot weather can last up to fifty years or more.
If you decide not to use a professional storage facility, do not store your coat in a cedar closet or chest. The oils can harm the fur. Keep the furs in the coolest closet possible and always in the dark. Check frequently for insect activity - especially moths.

Ermine

Persian Lamb is farmed in both Asia and South Africa and pelts are prized for their soft, wavy curls with natural colours of black, brown and grey. Shearling is natural lamb pelts with the leather side sueded or leatherized and worn on the outside, and the curly fur worn inside as a lining.
Marten
A close cousin to Russian sable, American marten has long silky hair and varies from dark brown to golden in color. The finest variety, has a bluish-brown coat and pale underfur.
Mink
Mink is the all-time diva of furs. Soft and lightweight with lustrous guard hair and dense underfur, it is primarily farm-raised. Female pelts are smaller in size and have a softer, silkier feel than the larger male pelts. Mink is available in a wide range of natural colors and may be sheared for a sporty, casual look. It is a very durable fur despite its luxurious look.
Muskrat
Muskrat is a North American fur that is popular for its natural contrasting colours. It can also be dyed in rich jewel shades. It is lightweight and is often worked skin-on skin.
Nutria
Found mainly in Argentina and the Southern USA, it is also farmed in Poland and the Czech Republic. Similar to beaver, it is often sheared for a sporty, more lightweight feel. Because its underfur is very soft and plush and its fur can be dyed in a variety of shades, nutria is a popular fur for linings and trims.
