It all started with the imminent arrival of a baby boy...
I just love being different and standing out from the crowd, ever since my mother (not wanting to pay through the nose for the latest fashions - now understandable!) responded to my teenage whining of 'but everyone else has one/them' by drumming into me, 'you're not everyone else, you're you'. After many years of the same answer regardless of what brand name school shoes I begged for, (and my 14 year old self would hate me for saying this), my mother was right. I am me, and I love to make things that reflect my love of being different and not conforming to the fashions everyone else may be following.
I opened the Makery in 2013, but soon found myself fully immersed in motherhood so put my creativity on hold until I had more time to commit to creating and sewing new designs. Our tall, loving and dinosaur-obsessed Henry-Moo who arrived in December 2014 followed by our cuddly, smiley and strong-willed Edie-Moo in June 2016 keep me fully on my toes! Originally, I made themed felt baby booties within the Makery and although these were popular and different, becoming a mother made me realise that they were not hugely practical!
Motherhood has most definitely given me some pointers as to what is useful and practical when it comes to babies and toddlers! So the Makery has taken a small change of direction and will be stocking new items soon with any luck. Still handmade with Moo love, just a little different to before. Hope you like them!
Moolove to you all,
Mrs Moo
