I hate using resin b/c it makes my whole house smell like a chemical factory. But Diamond Glaze doesn't work well for for me because I always get a mass of annoying bubbles no matter what I do. I know that there was a suggestion on here about another Diamond Glaze type product but I wanted to get some opinions on what others use and what the results are. I want to make some pendants and rings using a bezel setting and filling it with a resin like material. Any suggestions or tips?

If this helps at all, I find that hovering a flame right above the bubbles pops them within the resin. :)

Thanks guys! Resin is so hard to work with (for me at least). I have had ok results with the Diamond Glaze but it is so inconsistent.

Yeah I think the Glossy Accents was mentioned on here before. I want to try it out too.

I purchased a bottle of the Glossy Accents last week. I have been using Diamond Glaze on my scrabble tiles and domino pendants and not had a problem (not even bubbles), but I always like to try different products. I experimented with one tile, applied the Glossy Accents exactly the same way that I do the DG, and ended up with a "pocket" in the middle of the tile. When I applied my second and third coats I tried to remedy the pocket, but it remained. So for now I think I will stick with the DG. I mentioned last night in another post that the August issue of Jewelry Artist had an article about "The Right Resin". They talked about a product called Magic-Glos - it is a UV resin, and sort of pricey, but I am thinking about trying that for some watch pendants.

There are different brands of resin - some with more fumes than others. I use Envirotex-lite. It has a low odor compared with types like Castin' Craft resin.

Envirotex is also easier to mix - it's 1 to 1 and not a crazy ratio that involves math (which for me is instant FAIL) ;)

Auryn I may try that other resin out as well. I hate mixing the resin b/c I never feel like I am doing it right. Plus, when I attempt to add colors it's a whole other inconsistent nightmare. :)

And for those of you who use Diamond Glaze, how do you get the bubbles out? I always pour a little out before I apply it to remedy the bubble issue but there are always still a ton of bubbles. It drives me nuts!
