About

Our Minds Are Set on Writing!

I have been searching for the perfect notebook for years. One that meant something to me, was light and easy to carry, and could be accessible on-the-go. I approached my father who has been working with wood for years (also fighting fire and farming) and drew up some ideas. The result was a team collaboration between a retired dad and a middle school teacher daughter. All products are made by hand in Kalamazoo, MI and use great cuts of wood. Something we pride ourselves in the shop is that each wooden notebook is authentic cherry, maple, pine, or walnut. The color of the wood speaks for itself through a clear coat finish!

Writing Mindset was born out of a love of writing, and this shop was born out of an appreciation for handmade crafts and traditions from family. Interested in keeping up with a middle school teacher? Follow us at www.writingmindset.org. Also, reach out to us on Twitter and Instagram to share your thoughts and ideas about our notebooks! We are constantly looking at new ways to better the craft of our paper products.

Pat is my dad! He is a farmer and retired firefighter. He grew up around carpentry. Wood design is something was passed down to him from my grandfather, Ted. Ask him about a project, and he will tell you, "We can figure it out."
