About

I make things.

I’ve been working with materials that are less precious, and which have allowed further creative freedom, as well as an efficiency that I lacked with more lengthy traditional processes.

Selecting new materials for their potential to generate forms, for their stability, and for their accessibility, I have gravitated toward foam and composite resin, clear epoxy resin, polymer clay, and paint. These materials lend themselves to organic forms and are, when used properly, safer and more affordable for my home studio. Foam positives are carved and refined or extruded before the application of the composite resin. Polymer clay elements mingle with traditionally generated metal elements of fabricated copper and brass.

Shop policies

I would like this shop to create a direct outlet for my work. I work with a wide range of materials, and I'm interested in continuing this experimenting. Using both traditional metalsmithing techniques and industrial materials means that all of my work is both wearable and durable.

To create work that is more user friendly, I've been working in a range of scales. This includes the art pieces I've been producing, that are in the range of fruit/vegetable scale. They remain lightweight because they are typically constructed with foam and a fiberglass-like material.

The smaller brooches are also constructed of foam, but are in the 1-4 inch range making them more practical for daily wear.

I've also been producing rings and earrings with polymer clay bases rather than foam. Combined with fabricated metal hardware for support and epoxy resin on the exterior, these pieces are extremely durable.
